Here is a copy of the promotional email for Aled's new album:

Reason to Believe is a selection of songs old and new, secular and (occasionally) devotional, showcasing Aled's unique voice that has been entrancing audiences for over 25 years.

The album - Aled's first with a band, and his first since a close brush with death last Christmas - includes a duet with Cerys Matthews and other notable collaborations with Leona Daly and Gretchen Peters.

"I've been singing hymns for years and I'm 36 years old now," explains Aled. "So I've gone looking for songs with the same inspirational quality as a hymn, but not necessarily the same subject matter. And I think I've found them."

Reason to Believe was produced by Jon Kelly, whose remarkable CV ranges from Paul McCartney and Kate Bush to Deacon Blue and Chris Rea.

Many tracks may already be familiar: Cat Stevens's 'Father And Son', Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah', Tim Hardin's 'Reason To Believe' and Carole King's 'You've Got A Friend' - but one thing is for sure: They are all given fresh life by Aled, whose distinctive voice, still as pure as when he was winning eisteddfods as a boy in Anglesey, stamps its mark on everything he sings.

Reason to Believe is released on Monday

Wow, wow and wow again!! What a wonderful album!!!! I bought it yesterday! In fact it was my 2yr old son who spotted it first! We were scouring the shelf in Sainsbury's when Toby yelled "Aled, there Aled!" Thanks Tobes!! He probably alerted the entire store that Aled's cd was there! It was at 25 in the charts! I am so lucky to have 2 boys who love Aled's singing! (On the way into school today Joe was singing Hallelujah! And he says he particularly likes the music that goes with Reason to Believe! Amazing what children pick up on! )
Anyway, after making our purchase We raced home, just about sticking to the speed limits, and played it immediately!! What a fantastic album!! The depth of Aled's voice is wonderful and the feeling which comes out of his singing goes straight into you! I love every song on there! No Frontiers is wonderful as is Be Still My Soul! It is a beautiful collection of songs sung by a man with such an incredible voice!!!! Diolch yn fawr Aled!!
I have since bought a second copy which I am sending to my Mum in hospital! No doubt the nurses there will all hear it (Mum likes to sing) and then they will have to buy it! How could you not?? Wink

And the photo in the middle of the cd cover is gorgeous!!

Pleeeeeeeeze let there be a tour to go with this album!!!!!! Very Happy

I read somewhere that the album has entered the charts at No15!

That's off to a promising start isn't it. Smile

There was an article came through last night, which I didn't put into news as it contained info about so many other chart positions that are of no particular interest here, but among other things it said:

"Among other new entrants were "Songs of Praise" presenter Aled Jones, whose album "Reason to Believe" came in at 15th, and Stevie Wonder, with "Number Ones" at 23."

Reuters report - CLICK HERE

So I guess Aled can be quite pleased! Smile Smile

I have just bought the album and it seems to be selling well. I haven't had the chance to listen to it yet, but its only a matter of time.
It seems to be doing very, very well. Cool

Let me know what you think, please, Treasure (what a nice name!!! Laughing )

Do you have any other of Aled's albums? - this one is a bit different, but, as ever, very easy and relaxing to listen to
