Yikes. I'd go for 'Across The Universe of Time', 'Benedictus' or 'Dark Waltz'.

I prefer the original version of Benedictus though. I just like Hayleys version too.

This is the hardest question of all. I love them all. Okay, I have to go with the first one I ever heard Hayley sing - Pokarekare Ana.

Hi xcept!

I'm glad you agree! For me, Pokarekare Ana got me totally hooked. I first heard it on Classic FM on 10th October 2003. Within the hour, I had bought Pure and played it several times a day for ages. Two months later, I met Hayley following her brief appearance at the Amnesty International Christmas Concert in Trafalgar Square on 6th December 2003.

During that meeting, she signed Pure for me. Six days later, I saw her again when she appeared at the Sargent Cancer Care Christmas concert in the Royal Albert Hall. I didn't think for a moment she would remember me. She did! She came up to me and said "Oh hi, Roger"!!!

I have now seen her in concert 31 times and have met her at all but four of them. So, that one song means a lot!!

Best wishes,
Roger

Don't you lose count, Roger? Laughing

Shocking as this fact is... I think I met her before you Roger! Laughing I met her in October 2003, also the time where I first met Keith, Simon and his wife Shirley. I remember Hayley giving Shirley some flowers. She was really sweet.

I don't remember the first song I heard Sad Whatever it was, it didn't have much of an impact on me. It was only until Pure was released did I really like her. Andy sent me a copy of one of her NZ released early 2003.

Yep, you beat me to it there, Nic but I forgive you!

I think you are referring to the Loose Lips concert - I know the story of the flowers that Hayley gave to Shirley even though it happened "before my time". At my age, it's not often I can say that!!! Wink

It was quite memorable. It was at the Loose Lips appearence. Melinda Messenger actually trod on my copy of 'Pure'. Nice of her!

Oops, I forgot to answer your initial question, Nic!

No, I don't lose count because I maintain records of every event - date, venue, the songs she sings at each one, who she sings with (if a duet), the backing musicians, etc. Originally, that was merely for my own interest but I found it can be very useful when answering questions over at HWI!

For me this has to be "Wuthering Heights". I always thought this a beautiful song but do not like the rendition of Kate Bush at all. But with Hayleys angelic voice it just sounds beautiful. Smile

Hi Nadine,

Like you, I never liked 'Wuthering Heights' by Kate Bush. When I first saw it was on Pure, I had my doubts about buying it! I did anyway. Hayley's version was much better but it was quite some time before I really began to appreciate the song itself. Then I saw Hayley perfoming it live and I have loved it ever since!

I naturally like Wuthering Heights as I love the book Smile You can't like the book and not like the song - you just appreciate it too much.

Roger, you are a very organised man!

I haven't read the book so that might be a silly question: Has the book anything to do with the song or is it just the name?
