Hayley is on FNIMN this coming Friday, presented by Aled from the Mermaid theatre London and on radio 2 at 7.30 - 9.15. You can also listen again for a week after the concert.
And 4 of us have got tickets to be there!

On Abide with me, who was playing the piano for her.
Whoever it was, it sounded beautiful and had me crying all the way through.
I particularly liked the bit where she sang the first part of the first verse, and then the piano joined her for the second part, and when she sang the final two lines and then repeated them, "in life in death o lord abide with me" I was pratically sobbing. |

Hayley did indeed sing 'Abide with Me' beautifully, and as you say, she sang unaccompanied for the first verse. She sings very simply, I feel, and dresses so also, and was wearing a very simple black dress for the second half of FNIMN - which suited the hymn also. The pianist was not introduced separately - he was just the usual BBC Concert Orchestra pianist as far as I know. It certainly was very touching
Steve, Hayley's manager, came into the theatre from the stage entrance door along with the other Bedlam staff, and listened to her sing 'Abide with Me'
It was a really good programme, I thought - I wish we could "listen again" for longer than a week! |

I bet there were people giving her a hug backstage afterwoods.
What happened when she was going off stage after the song.

| You can hear Hayley's rendition of Abide with Me on her album Treasure. She sings the first part a cappella and then has a piano join in for later verses but it sounds beautiful. |
