Yes! I am! And about time too, I couldn't go last year. Are you going Xcept?

I am really excited for three reasons:

I've always to go to the royal Albert Hall
I'm going to see Russell!
I'm going to see some other artists I like.

Russell was the man that made me order the tickets.

I'll be most happy to write a review Smile I assume you just want me to review Russell? Or the whole event? Since Russell seems to be their main attraction I think he will get more stage time Smile

Rainy, did you see last years Classic Response or was it his own concert? I most regret not going last year, Keedie and G4 were there also (though I saw them at a different festical later in the year).

Any review would be great Nicola, but there are quite a few ladies here who will be your friend for LIFE if you pay special attention to Russell Very Happy

I don't think I need to be asked to pay extra special attention to Russell! Wink

Is there a screen in the RAH so you can actually see the artist? I know the place is very big so I imagine the majority of the audience won't be able to see the performer so was just wondering. I am in the stalls, so not too far away. I'm sure my Dad will get a few godo photos as well (he always sneaks in camaras if he isn't allowed). Yes... my Dad is taking me for my 21st Birthday. I don't know anyone that likes the music I do so he gets to do the 'dad' job in taking me. Laughing

HI all,

I was at the classic response concert last March, and wrote a review afterwards for the Aled Jones fanclub, an artist who I am very much hoping will be put on this forum very soon, he well deserves it! - and must have been almost the first classical crossover artist 20 years ago! Anyway, if you are interested, I could transfer it over here, it will tell you who performed, what was sung etc. But was written obviously from the point of view of an Aled fan so you would have to accept that and make allowances! In addition, Aled had been asked to go out to Sri Lanka to make a film for the SOS villages (the concert was for their benefit, as it will be this year) and the film was shown during the concert. I also wrote a report on the film.

To answer Nicola's question, yes there was a screen, but as I have said, it was to show the film, whether there will be one this year, I do not know.

So if you are interested, let me know how / where to file the report. I shall be out this evening, but can check when I return to see what response this gets. Smile

Incidentally I am going this year also.

Hi Bonita,

welcome to ClassicalX. As for me, I'd really like to read your review. I don't care if it's written from a fan's point of view. Smile

Thanks nkruemel (think I'll call you Mel in future, it's easier..!)

Thinking further on my last post, I wonder if it would be an idea to open up a section specifially for reviews - after all, there are likely to be concerts where a number of the aritists on this board are appearing, so a report should not really be only in one artist's "section". What do the administrators think?

Also realised I did not answer Nicola's question about the number of songs of each artist. Russell sang 2 songs, same as some of the others. Like this year, it seemed to be assumed he was "the main attraction", and maybe he was, but when all were appearing for charity it was nice to think of them all as equals. Anyway, Russell came on at the end, and it could have been assumed that he was the final artist - and then on came a young treble, Harry Sever to finish the concert off (but I spoil my own report now!!) That did seem appropriate as the concert was in aid of children, and at the end Aled (the "old" treble) hugged Harry (the "young" treble) - which was a really nice ending!

Sorry, must run, I am due out!

You could try Nadine as that's my "real" name and easier to type then nkruemel I think. Plus: You make sure I really feel addressed. I'm not used to mel and I might think you're talking to someone else. Wink Very Happy

If there is enough members willing to write reviews, I will get a dedicated REVIEW section added. Members and visitors would be able to search on artists reviews and review categories would added to each artists page.

Might I suggest that a POLL thread is made in the GENERAL forum to decide whether the members of ClassicalX want the facility?
