Producers are putting the finishing touches to a new film called Greece : Secrets of the Past. Here's the link :
http://www.greecefilm.com/soundtrack.htm
Mario has recorded a few songs on the soundtrack which has been produced by Steve Wood, who also produced Sometimes I Dream.
I've ordered the CD from the link on the page. From what I read, the instruments are very old ones and the sound is very different. When I get the album, I'll let you know all about it.

| I got my copy of the album last week and it's really lovely. Mario sings four songs on it. I'm sure the film will be quite spectacular and I'm looking forward to it being released. |

Steve Wood also produced the music for the Imax film "Amazing Caves" featuring the music of The Moody Blues - thus the link for the Frangoulis/Hayward duet on "Sometimes I Dream". You can hear echoes of Wood's instrumentation on both projects - stunning! I'm going right to Amazon to see if "Greece - Secrets of the Past" is on their site. (The photo on the cover looks like it was taken on the island of Santorini.) Thanks for the info!

The Imax film, Greece - Secrets of the Past is playing in Imax theaters right now. I saw the film last week and going again tomorrow. It is wonderful and the music is beautiful. I got the CD about 3 weeks ago and listen to it every day. Orlandodon, I think you are right that the photo is Santorini, since both Santorini and Athens were featured in the film.

Hi Orlandodon
I think you can only get the CD from Steve Wood (refer to the link in my first post). If you can get it through Amazon, please let us know. You will love it.

Hi Diane
I hope the film comes here to Australia. Listening to Mario's voice (and others) right through the film must have been such a joy.

Hi Trish,
You're right - Amazon does not have the soundtrack - but I did order it from the Steve Wood site - the film is being shown here in Orlando as well as close by in Tampa. We'll be seeing it soon - it was good to hear Frangoulis' voice on the song samples that I heard - I also enjoyed the instrumental samples. We toured several of the Greek islands as well as Athens a few years back and broke out the photo album of the trip while the samples played......
Cheers,

Hi Orlando Don
When you get the album, bring out your photo album again and you'll re-live your trip even more. There's such a lovely theme which runs through the whole album. Love to hear from you after you see the film.

Hello Trish,
Yes! The theme that runs through the CD is beautiful. Frangoulis does the entire song on his Greek album "Garden of Dreams". Can't tell you the name of the song because all of the tunes are in Greek, so I treat the voice as an instrument and enjoy it for the fact that it stands on it's own. It was interesting....my wife is a nurse and was wanting to see an exhibit called "Bodies - The Exhibition" at the Museum of Science and Industry in Tampa, about 75 miles away. Last Saturday, we saw the exhibit (just incredible - but that's another posting) and when we bought our tickets... there it was..... now playing "Greece - Secrets of the Past". Obviously we bought tickets of the IMAX film as well. It was projected on the dome of the planetarium, so there was a lot of image distortion - all prominent vertical images took the shape of the concave ceiling and front wall making it somewhat difficult (and almost comical) to watch in places. I would like to see it again on a more conventional IMAX screen.Alas, Frangoulis' voice was only heard briefly perhaps 3 times on the soundtrack. I'm gald I bought the CD. I wasn't that impressed with the other vocal presentations on the CD - I must be a die hard Frangoulis fan.
That's it from sunny Central Florida,
Cheers!
