Mario's Back In The States and on his way to Hollywood

Hello there everyone!

Trying to fill in for Trish this evening and pass along a little more Mario news.

I am sorry that I don't have at my fingertips Josy's original letter! I deleted the letter by mistake. Perhaps Trish still has it saved. If I have time, I'll go back to Mario's site and see if I can copy it.

Long story short, within the next few weeks Mario will fly from NYC to California. He has been invited to spend some time with Mario Lanza's son, Damon Lanza to discuss business. It seems that Damon and a long time family friend, Bob Dolfi are seriously considering producing a movie and/or Broadway play about Mario Lanza.

I/we do not have specifics; however, Mario Frangoulis is definitely in contention for the part! Yeah! It will certainly be interesting to see how all this plays out.

Please remain close for further updates! News shall be passed along to all of you nice folks as soon as we hear anything.

It's fabulous news that Damon Lanza and Bob Dolfi are considering Mario to portray the very great Mario Lanza. They met this weekend and will meet again soon. Mario didn't sing for Damon and Bob at their meeting but gave them a copy of his unreleased DVD of the concert he performed in Greece last October. Bob posted on the ML forum that it was awesome. This is a great opportunity for Mario and we wish him all the best.

Bob has invited Mario's fans to leave a message for him on the Mario Lanza forum, and he will pass them on to Mario. Bob will try to let Mario read the posts and in turn, send his own post to his fans.

This is from the Mario Lanza forum from Bob Dolfi :

Well now that I am able to think better than 12:30am, (it's now
7:15am, Sunday) here is a better view of our meeting with Mario
Frangoulis & his agent producer, Matthew Inge.

They arrived straight from the airport about 5:00pm and were met by
Romina Arena, Kathrin Pacino, who arrived first, Marlene, Damon
Lanza and myself .

The first thing that struck me was his good looks and why women are
attracted to him. (It is the same with Aaron Caruso as well)

After socializing for a while, we put his DVD on which was
absolutely fantastic. More discussions ensued and then into the
dinning room for my baked eggplant dinner.
After dinner more discussions followed and a 'tour' around the home
which included seeing the gold records, many rare pictures, our
special showcase of Mario and Betty's personal items, the model
airplane named after Mario Lanza and some other awards etc..

We then went upstairs to 'my office' to read all the posts to Mario
himself and he indeed read everyone of them. By this time they were
all very tired and had to leave for the hotel.

It was a great honor to meet Mario and his producer friend, Matthew
and enjoyed their company very much.

They will be in contact with us again and hopefully will be here
once more before leaving for N.Y.
