Russell is duetting with Victoria Hart on her New album The Lost Gershwin out 27/10/2008

The song is track 2 Isn't It A Pity

For Play.com link to buy the album Click Here

".... Guesting on the new album is Russell Watson, who met Victoria when she was asked to be the special guest on his 2008 UK tour. This was yet another perfect opportunity for Hart, who had also wowed celebrities on-board the Quintessentially yacht party in Cannes 2008 hosted by Margherita Missoni just one year on from her success at the Ocean’s 13 party. The two performers formed an immediate bond. ....

....Russell Watson and Victoria Hart, though perhaps an odd choice for collaboration in some people’s eyes, actually have a lot in common.

“I love that Russell is called the ‘People’s Tenor’. I admire the fact that he is a crossover artist, singing not only classical but swing, jazz, blues and even country music. His distinctive style over the last 10 years has made operatic and classical music accessible to the masses. He has made unfashionable music popular!”

“I hope, even in a small way, that I can do the same with my music. Crossover means constant experimentation and working hard at developing my style. I enjoy working hard and I want to be around for the long haul, not here and gone in a flash.” ...."

Just checked out the tracklisting one of the tracks was with Revelation. Would that be the group from Last Choir Standing? Smile

Yes that's right Quawkers. Razz
It is a very 6 degrees of separation album (well 3 degrees really Laughing Wink) lol. Victoria Hart toured with Russell and Russell judged Revelation in LCS. Very Happy

Well my Cd arrived this morning And the Russell duet is actually track 3, although it is still the song Isn't It A Pity. It's quite a two-part song with Russell singing the first half and Victoria singing the second half. It's a very mellow, smooth song and very inkeeping with the style of music Russell has listed for his new album.

Very Happy Cool

The Lyrics for Isn't It A Pity are:

Isn't It A Pity

Russell
It's a funny thing, I look at you
I get a thrill I never knew
Isn't it a pity we've never met before
Here we are at last, it's like a dream
The two of us, a perfect team
Isn't it pity we never met before

Imagine all the lonely years we've wasted
You with the neighours, I at silly labours
What joy's untasted
You reading heine, I somewhere in China

Happiest of men I'm sure to be
If only you will say to me
It's an awful pity that we've never met before

Victoria
It's a funny thing, I look at you
I get a thrill I never knew
Isn't it a pity we've never met before

Imagine all the lonely years we've wasted
You up in Norway, I around my doorway
What joy's untasted
If you'd been handy 'twould have been just dandy

Isn't it a shame we had to wait
But thank te Lord it's not too late
Still it's such a pity
We've never met before

Put your hand in mine, a perfect fit
We never knew, just think of it
Isn't it a pity we've never never met
We've never never met
We've never never met before.
