Post subject: Aled's October appearances
Well, Aled is off on his Australian tour this month
But a few other things to fit in first.....

* BBC 2 11.00 11.30: What Are You Like? Aled and Simon O'Brien are joined by Ann Widdicome and Dominic Littlewood for another gently probing test. Fiona Bruce asks, How independent are you?
* BBC 2 11.00 11.30: What Are You Like? Aled and Simon O'Brien are joined by Wendi Peters and Anthea Turner for another gently probing test. Fiona Bruce asks, How motivated are you?
Friday 3rd
: BBC radio 2: 7.30- 9.15: Friday Night is Music Night from Londons LSO St Lukes: Guests Clare Rutter and Stephen Gadd, Also Tracey van Louen Palm Court Strings pre-record Sep 4th

Sunday 5th
* Good Morning Sunday: BBC radio 2: 7.00 9.00: Aled chats to tenor singing sensation Jonathan Ansell, Marion Shoard discusses issues facing older people as part of the Life to Live campaign. And last ,but by no means least, Chick Yuill talks about current issues from a religious & ethical perspective, and offers the moment of reflection.
* Aled Jones: Radio Wales 12.00 1.00 Aled is back for more music and conversation. His first guest is the journalist and broadcaster Michael Buerk.
* Songs of Praise: BBC 1: 5.10 5.45 Aled catches up with the winners of the programme's school choirs competition and discovers what they have been up to. Lindley Junior School Choir, from Huddersfield, joins Aled to perform a special song for Children in Need and the senior choir of the year, from Coventry Blue Coat School, takes up residence in Salisbury Cathedral. Music includes When I Survey the Wondrous Cross and Simple Gifts.
* The Choir: BBC radio 3: 6.30 8.00 Aled talks to Finnish choral conductor, writer and journalist Kari Turunen about Einojuhani Rautavaara and the post-war choral scene in Finland. Now in his eightieth year, Rautavaara has consistently contributed to choral repertoire and since he began composing in the 1950s, his career has grown in tandem with a growing interest in choirs. An increase in chamber choirs was followed by the development of youth and children's choirs. The rise in numbers and enthusiasm and high standards of these choirs has ensured that Finnish composers find a healthy marketplace for new choral repertoire.
