Well, Christmas approaches, and as usual Aled is rushing around here, there and everywhere!!
Tuesday 2nd: A Night under the Stars: Southbank Centre, Belvedere Road, London SE1 8XX 7.30 – 10.30-: Aled is a guest presenter at a star-studded evening of entertainment in aid of The Passage. The Passage is the charity behind London's largest voluntary sector day centre and outreach programme for homeless and vulnerable people. This year's event features much-loved works performed by young talent from the world of classical music, introduced by stars of stage and screen.
The concert is followed by a champagne reception, tickets for which can be booked through The Passage by phoning 020 7592 1850.

Wednesday 3rd: Good Morning: ITV 10.30 – 12.30: Aled sings “Silent Night”
Friday 5th: Barnes St Mary’s Church: An evening with Aled Jones. The information states: Aled Jones, singer, actor, radio/tv presenter and Barnes resident, will be performing in Barnes on Friday 5th December. He will be presenting an evening of songs, music and talk from his amazing 25-year career showcasing the voice and personality which has entranced audiences since he was a choirboy. The event at St Mary’s Church is timed for 7.30 for 8.00 and is in aid of Hope House Children’s Hospices and The Friends of St Mary’s Barnes. Sunday 7th
* Good Morning Sunday: BBC radio 2: 7.00 – 9.00: Aled says Good Morning Sunday to Gloria Hunniford, who talks about how letters from the public helped her through her grief following her daughter's death. Aled is also joined by composer and saxophonist Christian Forshaw on the release of his new album, Midwinter, which follows on from the success of Sanctuary and Renouncement.
* Aled Jones: BBC Radio Wales: 12.00.-1.00: Aled is in conversation with actor Tony Adams.
* The Choir: BBC radio 3: 6.30 – 8.00: Messiaen Programme: As part of this year's Olivier Messiaen centenary celebrations, Aled considers the choral legacy of the French composer, together with his successor at Paris's church of La Sainte Trinite, Naji Hakim. The BBC Singers perform Messiaen's Cinq Rechants and its companion, Jolivet's Epithalame, widely regarded as one of the most difficult choral pieces ever written.
* Royal Festival Hall: 4.30 7.00: – Grand Final of Choir of the Year 2008 to be broadcast on Radio 3 Monday 8th at 7.00pm, and on BBC 4 on Friday 12th at 7.30pm
Monday 8th: BBC Radio 3: 7.00 - 9.15: Grand Final of Choir of the Year 2008 Presented by Petroc Trelawny. In an event recorded yesterday at London's Royal Festival Hall, Aled hosts the final of the BBC Choir of the Year Competition, the culmination of this year's competition which has attracted more than 5000 singers from communities all over the country. The programme features the four category finalists plus two wildcard choirs battling it out to be crowned BBC Choir of the Year 2008
Friday 12th: BBC 4 7.30 – 9.00: Grand Final of Choir of the Year 2008 Aled and Josie D'Arby present the climax of the BBC Radio 3 Choir of the Year, the UK's largest amateur choral competition, from London's Royal Festival Hall. After months of fierce competition between more than 200 singing groups, involving over 5,000 singers, the remaining six choirs compete for the ultimate victory. Includes a special guest appearance from Last Choir Standing winners, Only Men Aloud!
Saturday 13th: Sage Gateshead: 7.30 – 10.00: Christmas concert. Simon Halsey, Principal Conductor Choral Projects at The Sage Gateshead, will conduct his own spectacular choice of Christmas music. Simon Halsey brings together Northern Sinfonia, Northern Sinfonia Chorus and Quay Voices for this annual concert of favourite Christmas music and readings. This year he is joined by the broadcaster, singer, presenter and sometime dancer, Aled Jones, who first came to fame as the boy soprano who sang "Walking in air" in the film of The Snowman.

* Good Morning Sunday: BBC radio 2: 7.00 – 9.00: Aled chats to Jools Holland, about his latest album, Last Choir Standing runners up Ysgol Glanaethwy fill Aled in with what they've been doing since the competition, and Chick Yuill gives the moment of reflection.

* Songs of Praise: The Christmas Big Sing . Aled introduces a Christmas Big Sing from London's Royal Albert Hall. Ruthie Henshall sings Silent Night accompanied by the Adventist Vocal Ensemble; classical boy band Blakejoin forces with girl group All Angels in a new arrangement of O Holy Night; and Lindley Junior School Choir from Huddersfield sing Away in a Manger. A choir of 1,000 voices leads more than 5,000 people in Christmas carols including O Come All Ye Faithful, Once in Royal David's City and We Three Kings of Orient
* The Choir: BBC radio 3: 7.00 – 8.15 Aled talks to Sasha Johnson Manning, whose Manchester Carols aim to retell the story of the Nativity for the 21st century. Plus a selection of Christmas choral rarities.
Friday 19th: FNIMN -Mermaid A Friday Night Christmas concert from London's Mermaid presented by Aled. The BBC Concert Orchestra is conducted by Roderick Dunk. Guest performers are soprano Ailish Tynan and the Radio 2 Choristers of the Year.
Sunday 21st
* Good Morning Sunday: BBC radio 2: 7.00 – 9.00: Aled says Good Morning Sunday to Ben Schott, author of the Schott's Miscellanies and Almanacs, who looks back on 2008. Plus the winners of the BBC Radio 2 Young Choristers of the Year 2008.
* Aled Jones: BBC Radio Wales: 12.00 –1.00:Aled is joined by William Roache.
* Songs of Praise: Christmas carols. Aled introduces traditional carols by candlelight from Shrewsbury as the Christmas story is told by Robert Hardy and Gabrielle Drake. There is also a chance to sing along with some classic Christmas favourites including O Little Town of Bethlehem, In the Bleak Midwinter, and Hark! the Herald Angels Sing. Plus new Christmas delights from Terry Wogan, Aled and, after 40 years in the business, Status Quo have finally come up with a seasonal song.
Wednesday 24th:
* ITV: 11.25 - 12.30: Aled's Christmas carols: Aled joins forces with the Adventist Vocal Ensemble and Libera to perform some of our bestloved carols. He reveals his own personal favourite and goes in search of the stories behind the carols
* BBC Radio 2: 2.00-5.00: Aled and Melanie Sykes sit in for Steve Wright
*BBC radio 2: 11.00 – 12.00: Aled presents Carols By Candlelight, performed by the Chapter House Choir of York Minster. Directed by Stephen Williams, the choir perform Christmas music old and new from the Gothic surrounds of York Minster's 13th-century Chapter House.

Good Morning Christmas: BBC Radio 2: 7.00- 9.00 - Guests Des O’Connor, Jeremy Paxman, and Canon Ann Easter. The Adventist Vocal Ensemble sing live in the studio

* Good Morning Sunday: BBC radio 2: 7.00 – 9.00: - Aled presents the very best of Good Morning Sunday from 2008 in the annual highlights programme. Includes Dionne Warwick, Des O'Connor, Hue & Cry and Only Men Aloud.
* Aled Jones: BBC Radio Wales: 12.00 –1.00: Aled is in conversation with Jacqueline Wilson.
* The Choir: BBC radio 3: 6.45 – 8.00 Aled explores choral singing in the world of musicals. It isn't the norm to have to show off your dancing skills at an audition to join a cathedral choir or a local choral society, but that's just one of the many demands placed on chorus members in musicals and shows. Aled talks to West End music director James McKeon and chorus member Aoife Nally about their world.
