Thanks to Marian on the OS for this:

NEWS: City ShowcasePosted on April 22, 2008 5:54 PM

City Showcase
2nd - 6th June 2008

From the 2nd – 6th June this year, The Heart of London’s Beats, is back for a sixth consecutive year and promises to be one to remember.

Amy Winehouse, Newton Faulkner, Keane, Razorlight, Scouting For Girls, Ray LaMontagne, Hot Chip, Sway and Lady Sovereign all kicked off their careers in the City Showcase stage.
It’s the place to be if you want to be one of the first to see some of the hottest future stars.
Twin Atlantic, We Are The Ocean, The Young Republic, Wallis Bird and The Law will all be playing at this year’s London’s Beats.

Also fresh from supporting The Wombats in Germany, South African chart toppers The Parlotones will be playing.

Headlining the Asian night is acclaimed artist Raghav who stormed to success in 2005 at the Asian Music Awards winning Best Artist, Best Single, Best Newcomer and Best Chart Act - to date has notched up 4 top ten UK hits.

London Beats is a great way to soak London live music ranging from Indie, to Jazz and to Electro.

As well as stars of the future, City Showcase also attracts stars of the past and present. One of the leading innovators from the 80’s and 90’s Acid House movement, Bomb The Bass, who had one of the first sample based chart hits, will be making history when they perform their first live show in the UK for 20 years.

Also Jonathan Ansell, former front man of X Factor “Popera” group G4, will be delighting audiences as he takes to the showcase stage.

Glad to see that the usual suspects are going - I really can't justify paying flights for this one, so will wait until the Tour is announced - probably in a couple of weeks' time I believe Wink Very Happy

Good to see so many people getting tickets for this one.

Great for Jonathan to have the support of so many of his fans there.

It sounds a great concert - and another one I would have loved to go to had things been different.

Looking forward to news of how it went - after the event.

I'm hoping to be able to get to this one-may have to bribe someone to work for me though, as it looks like I'd have to get there a lot earlier than I first thought Sad Sometimes there's a lot to be said for having a numbered ticket that definitely gets you in-it's difficult when you live further away and have to fit in work as well. Work is seriously invading my social life at the moment Rolling Eyes -will have to keep playing that lottery Laughing
