According to David's Official site, he will be appearing on "Blue Peter" (BBC1 in the UK) on Wednesday May 28th 2008 at 4.35 pm.

He will be attempting to break the record for the world's fastest violinist.

There can be little doubt that he will manage it easily. The only question is : what will he play.

My money is on Czardaz but it could be either the Bazzini or Zorba

So he's done it! Cool

"David has set a new World Record, ratified by the Guinness Book of Records, making him the world's fastest violinist.
On the UK TV show Blue Peter, David played the Flight of the Bumble Bee, note perfectly in just 66 seconds - an incredible 13 notes per second."

Oh, you play the violin, xcept? That's great! Just for fun or do you play concerts?

But back to topic: Am I the only one to wonder what this must sound like - 13 notes per second? Shocked

It is hard to imagine 13 notes per second - I think we might have to find a video clip of that one Very Happy

I've just added it to the video section. Smile It's still hard to believe though that someone can really play this fast. Sounds like they've pressed the fast-forward button. Laughing

Yes, congratulations, David.

It was a fantastic achievement.

I love his wonderful playing at speed on so many other pieces - and above all, I love the fact that he still makes music - not just a novelty show.

Thank you
