Katherine Jenkins: Sinatra was never off the playlist in our house when I was growing up. My parents were both huge fans and some of my earliest musical recollections were of magical songs such as 'Come Fly With Me' and 'New York, New York'. I can remember those soft silky tones and lazy delivery making an early impression on me as a kid as no one, absolutely no one, else sang like that. He was, and is, a totally unique artist and his name will last forever.

Aled Jones: When I was a student at the Royal Academy I used to listen to him all the time - an antidote to too much Schubert and Handel. I just love his laid-back phrasing and vocal emotion. He can sing behind the beat, in front of the beat and even out of tune and still it sounds perfect. Many try to copy him but fail. Has to be one of the coolest performers ever in the history of music.

Josh Groban: I think he's extraordinary, I think he's an inspiration to any singer of any genre, he's somebody that loved - loved - voice, he was so meticulous about his voice and he was an enormous fan of Robert Merrill, the American baritone. He's somebody that was known for his styling, was known for his phrasing, was known for changing the way people thought about that entire style of music. I think that under the kind of smooth, suave, 'I'm just coming in here and I'm just gonna sing a song and we'll see what happens' kind of mentality that he put across, he was absolutely a perfectionist
