Crossover & Jazz?

Hey everyone,

I was just wondering if you all as Crossover fans also enjoyed jazz... and if not, why not, and if so, who your favorite artists are.
And by "jazz," I mean not only Jazz, but swing, pop standards, showtunes, etc.

I enjoy most types of music including all of the above, its never a bad thing to have a lot of choice. I don't have favourite artists in any genre though, they all have something different to offer Very Happy

I have got someone for you Chantelle, whom you may enjoy. His debut cd is coming out as of April 12 this year. He is an ex navy guy, also a trumpeter.

I can actually tell you some of the songs that are going to feature on his debut album. The Cd title is "Pure Imagination".

Oh I forgot to mention that he came third in Series five of Australian Idol.

He was very popular, he is very charismatic on stage and best of all to me, he performs. Cannot wait for the day I get to see him performing live.

I must admit that i didnt particularly enjoy him as an artist on idol
That show seems to make other genres others than pop look odd or misfitting.
I know he isnt technically jazz but michael buble is great, very similar to carl in terms of charisma and on stage character but god does he pack the joint and it goes off!
Im going for the second time in june, cant wait!!!

I do listen to Matt Dusk, has very similar vocals to that of ol' blue eyes, Frank Sinatra. Gotta love mel torme, some of the lyrics are so old school they are a fantastic social history lesson!! But i think my ultimate would be gotan project. Its a new age form of jazz called 'Acid Jazz', its a mixture of latin and jazz, with a little french in between. Great music when entertaining, keeps everyone lively.
