Jonathan took part in a huge outdoor celebration marking a 100 years of the Territorial Army in front of HRH The Prince of Wales.
He took to the stage on Horseguards, central London yesterday afternoon and sang Here's To The Heroes, a very fitting song for the occasion.
With great thanks to Joanne on the OS it is now up on YouTube.

A longer version has also been put up as it puts Jonathan's song into the context of the afternoon.

After watching the longer version, I could see that Here's To The Heroes was so moving and fitting. How I wish this whole afternoon was shown on mainstream tv, not just for the fact Jonathan was performing but to show the gallantry and the work the TA do in our modern society. It is amazing that regular folk who are plasterers, bankers, chefs etc give up their time and sometimes their lives to help the regular army in times of need.
HTTH was the perfect choice of song for that moment and for it to be delivered with such passion and emotion, Jonathan was the only candidate. This song befits so many occasions with ease, seeing it performed at the Breathing Life Awards the other week and now this, it will surely become an anthem not too far away in the minds of organisers of such events and I am sure Jonathan would be up for the job each time.
He sang it with ease and grace and must have been so moving for those personnel and their families present as it was for me watching it this morning. _________________ Marian X

Hear hear Marian!
I second all that you say.
I watched the longer version of the youtube (thanks so much to Joanne) and it touched me so much.
The words of the song after what the gentleman had been saying - so fitting.
My brothers were in the TA's and my dad was in the RAF - so I felt very emotional listening to Jonathan - who sang beautifully and with so much feeling.
I think the ceremony deserved to have been shown on mainstream tv - so that the work of the TA's could have been applauded and appreciated far and wide.
I felt so proud of Jonathan. I cant imagine how his Mum and Dad, Debbie and family and friends must have felt - we are only fans and we felt immensely proud - they must have been bursting.

I to think that it should have been shown on mainstream TV.
The ceremony was very touching, and Jonathan singing HTTH was the perfect choice,
Thanks to Joanne on the OS we have a lovely video of the occasion,

At one time it would be automatic for the BBC to put a programme like this on!
Beautifully put Marian and as usual we have Joanne to thank for the Video's and any pics there might be.

A very poignant time especially with the latest casualties......Jonathan did himself proud singing such a fitting song as HTTH.
It was a great honour for him to be performing at this event in front of Senior Royals.....why oh why was it not on mainstream tv!! |

Exactly Mo! The trouble is, a vast majority assume we all have Sky/cable TV nowadays (we don't!!) and it doesn't matter who gets the rights to occasions like this and that annoys me, it is down to money as usual.
This is a National event, for the Nation to be given the chance to celebrate the TA and to pay their respects to the fallen heroes if they so wish and therefore it should have been broadcast on the BBC who we ALL pay for with our licence money.
Sorry, I have got on my soapbox here and totally off topic! _________________ Marian X

Couldn't agree more Marian, we all HAVE to pay the BBC whether we like it or not. A big event like this should have been covered. I can't get all Sky channels either.

As I said earlier I thought ITN and BBC had a bloomin' cheek reporting this event on their websties as they didn't even show any of it ..................... not even on the news _________________

I certainly think that the work of the TA's deserved the respect of being acknowledged on mainstream tv as well as sky.
The 100th anniversary should have had much wider coverage.
