Westenra, Oldfield team up for album
Young Kiwi singer Hayley Westenra has joined forces with legendary experimental British musician and composer Mike Oldfield of Tubular Bells fame.

Westenra sings lead vocals on two songs, On my Heart and On my Heart Reprise, on Oldfield's new album, Music of the Spheres.

Oldfield's Tubular Bells, released in 1973, fused folk, rock and classical music. It was one of the first records released by Richard Branson's Virgin Records and became a bestseller.

Oldfield said the new recording was the closest he had come to what would be considered classical music, though it had avant garde touches reminiscent of Steve Reich and Philip Glass.
