Thanks for posting the list Xantha as I didn't get chance to check out the actual program. It's certainly very interesting reading through the run-down and it's great to see some of my favourite pieces featuring such as "Lark Ascending" and "Rhapsody in Blue" to name but a few.
Will be interesting to hear if other members favourites featured in the list too. |

I missed the final part of the countdown but I'm thrilled to see so many of my favourites in the top 80.Two of the songs I voted for actually made it into the top 10; Beethoven's Emperor concerto and Elgar's Enigma variations.
This month's Classicfm magazine features 2 CD's with songs from the Hall of Fame, so if like me you missed some of the countdown, you can have a permanent reminder featuring some great music . |

Glad two of the one's you voted for made the top ten xantha, I had such a hard time choosing I didn't get around to voting!! There are so many beautiful pieces of music that instill such differing emotions in me and which I love for such different reasons too, so I think my favourite changes every day depending on how I feel! But then that's the great beauty of music, especially classical/crossover, as there is always something to fit how you're feeling.
Thanks for the heads up about the ClassicFM magazine CD's , I will have to have a look for that in the shops tomorrow!
Thanks for the info about Ben Thapa too Marion! |
