It sure was Jessica...so glad I made the effort to be there....due to work commitments, can't alwys be like these 'live' events!! Jon was like his very best (despite the sound effect I heard around the building) and the M&G afterwards was a added bonus to see him up close again and get a pic /autograph etc. in the process too. Forgot the mention Lang Lang's performance...spellbinding. Piano is my fave instrument, I learnt to play tunes on it at a young age, wish I could still play it now!! My review is now on OS site. glad the show will be broadcasted real soon too!!
Glad to see many of the FM's at the venue too!! |

I was reading the programme guide last night (many thanks to Shirley!) and the date for the broadcast was in it! Under Darren Henleys welcome article on the 3rd page!
I cant believe no one saw it in there! Too mesmerised by Jonathan I guess!
Mandy the piano is my favourite instrument too - I learned it up to grade 5 when I was a child. I dont play now though but my hubby and daughter do - so there is always piano playing going on in our house.
Im really looking forward to Lang Lang - although I'm not so keen on Rachmaninov - but still looking forward to hearing the piano.

Molly, you're in for a treat with Lang Lang, that's for certain-he was brilliant! Jonathan had to follow him on, which must have been quite daunting but as ever he rose to the occasion beautifully. His mother did say afterwards that he had been quite nervous, but you would never have known it from his performance, and he was positively basking in the applause afterwards. It's really lovely to see him looking so happy, and obviously enjoying every single minute-the laugh was much in evidence . Nice to see his family too-also having a great time! |

I can only echo what Marian has said earlier
Jonathan was certainly amazing and you would never have known he was nervous, but I think when the music strikes up and he starts singing all his nerves go from him and he just gets 'lost' in the performance Parla Pui Piano was brillaint adn then My Own True Love was outstanding and he did have eye contact with the fans who he spotted as I sort of melted in my seat as did Marian when he looked over at us He certainly makes you feel as if he is singing solely to you when he does that .
Was great to meet his family afterwards and they were chatting quite happily to the fans who were there. Kimmy gave him a lovely cross stitch picture of him and his Mum from the G4 Mother's Day shoot and it was absolutely brilliant and Jonathan was certainly blown away by it as was everyone else His Mum Pauline loved it, so hopefully, she's managed to do as I said and claim it from him for herself !!!! The family posed happily at fans request for a pic.
After saying goodbye to friends and see them at the Brits in a couple of weeks' time, we headed back to where Marian had parked the car and saw Jonathan and the family and shouted goodbye to them again.
A really great time was had by all and doing it all again in a couple of weeks and can't wait !!! _________________

Tell me about it Cathy, I can still see those eyes staring at us. It was a magical moment. _________________ Marian X
