Well the rumours were true, he is still alive and well and today popped by his website to leave a message for all his VIPs......
"And with that classic line from "The Life of Brian" may I just say how rubbish I have been lately? Bad, bad, boy...I know, I was away too long this time and for that I truly apologise.
I have no excuses other than being busy planning my world domination and still being minus a laptop or two..
Anyway I'm back now and just want to tease you with a few carrots for 2008.
In January I am going into the studio to record a number of tracks for a new recording project that I am involved in. There are three other singers involved (I think you will be familiar with all of them and no,I'm not joining another band.....as if!!)and I am immensely looking forward to it. I can't tell you anymore at this stage but the music is sublime and the lyrics are beautiful..so stay tuned..
So that's the first thing. Secondly, I am pleased to say that I am returning to Scottish Opera in March for some performances of new opera by composers such as Craig Armstrong (For an idea of his style listen to Romeo and Juliet soundtrack or Moulin Rouge).
Performance dates and venues are on the Scottish Opera website:www.scottishopera.org.uk
I hope to see some familiar faces at Bridgewater Hall on New Years eve and don't forget that I will be joining the Manchester Camerata in Leeds 16th March 2008 for another concert.
There are a number of things that are still up in the air as yet for Summer and Autumn but as soon as I can confirm them you'll be the first to know.
That's it for now, will be back shortly. PROMISE x x x
Nick "
I'm looking forward to hearing more about Nick's forthcoming projects and as soon as we know more, we'll be sure to post news on here. |

Yay! Nick's back! I'm so excited to hear about these projects! I need more than carrots - I need the potatoes and the turkey and cranberry sauce! lol
I'm so pleased for Nick, having these new projects coming up. I'm intrigued to know who these 3 other singers are! x _________________ 'A life in music is a life beautifully spent.' (Pavarotti) |

The following message is the latest blog from Nick's Myspace page....
Happy 2008
Stopping by to do a quick blog over here to sincerely wish everyone a very Happy and Healthy New Year and to apologise for being AWOL during the latter part of 07. Everyone here and over at my fantastic forum at nickgarrett.net have been 100% fantastic to me and my music last year and if you're as supportive this year I can't go wrong.
One thing though... my Birthday is not until April - so a little confused as to what's occurring with all the good wishes so early but feel free to make my birthday anytime you all want to - champagne, caviar, fast cars all much appreciated!
I'm rubbish at New Year resolutions so I won't promise any I can't keep....
Love
Nick x |

Nick can count on his GG's for support each & every year. Happy New Years to you also Nick, wishing you much success & best wishes the whole year through. Birthday wishes a bit early for Nick, but I see his sense of humour is still in high gear. Bring on the champagne.... |

It's a really nice message from Nick isn't it At least we know how much he appreciates our support - but then we knew that already And of course we'll support him throughout this year as well.
As for the new years resolutions.... I'd hope that one would be to give us more music And to post on the forum more often. x _________________ 'A life in music is a life beautifully spent.' (Pavarotti) |

Nick has posted a message on his website forum following his concert at Leeds Town Hall last week...
Dear friends,
A big thank you to everyone who came to Leeds Town Hall last Sunday to hear the Broadway Songs concert. I had a great time and was especially proud to see a full compliment of GG's who excelled themselves in their dress for the occasion ("The usual suspects"... xx) Not only did they bring their gorgeous selves but they came laden with gifts of a birthday and Easter nature for me. Thank you all - you never disappoint.
I must tell you about one of the gifts however. It is called a "Splat Toy" - a rubber, springy fluid filled thing that you throw at the wall and hey presto!....all your executive stress melts away and the toy recovers its shape. Genius...
I just want to tell you about Tosca at Holland Park. I am singing Scarpia and the dates are 3,5,7,9,11, and 13 July 2008.
I am very excited about this project and am immensely looking forward to it.
Also, I will be singing Escamillo in Carmen on a nationwide tour with English Touring Opera in the autumn - details to follow.
Have a happy Easter,
Much love,
Mr HAPPY.... x x x
