It is now almost two years since The Choirboys released the album which took the classical music world by storm and became the fastest-selling classical debut album ever, going 'gold' in just a few days.
One track that was recorded, but not released on the album, was Fairest Isle, a beautiful solo performance by Ben Inman. The track was eventually released the following spring, when, without announcement or publicity, it was quietly added to the list of tracks available by download.
This track has remained largely unheard, but has at last received recognition in the form of a nomination in the Solo Treble Track category of the 2006 Trebby Awards (i.e. for tracks released in 2006).
Your help is now needed in gaining Ben Inman's Fairest Isle the full credit it deserves. The outcome of each category in the Trebby awards is decided by a public, online vote on the Trebby website - www.trebby.com. We hope that, as a Choirboys fan, you will visit the Trebby website and register your vote for Ben.
To hear the track, to find out how you can buy it and to find out more about the Vote For Ben campaign, visit Ben's own website at www.beninman.com. But hurry - Trebby voting ends next Saturday at midnight (GMT).
And for those whom we haven't seen on the forum for a while - remember, to talk about Fairest Isle, Ben Inman, his two fellow Choirboys - Patrick Aspbury and CJ Porter-Thaw - or the three new Choirboys - Andrew Swait, Bill Goss and William Dutton - whose new CD, The Carols Album, is being released on December 3, go on to The Choirboys Official Forum, by using the Forum link on www.thechoirboys.co.uk.
Best wishes,
