TTT are currently touring Australia and New Zealand with their brand new show entitled 'Nostalgica', decribed as follows:

A journey of musical memories - no ordinary trip down memory lane, this is a two-hour, high-energy journey of musical nostalgia through some of the greatest ever written. Old-fashioned standards, movie magic, hit parade classics… it’s the soundtrack to your life, all presented with the uncompromising vocal power for which The Ten Tenors are notorious!

This new programme is a complete u-turn, compared to the previous show "Here's to the heroes", as it contains no classical pieces at all. Instead you find pop, rock and jazz hits from the 40s to the 90s:

It's Alright With Me
My Blue Heaven
Night and Day
Cheek to Cheek
My Baby Just Cares for Me
Moon River
As Time Goes By
You Make Me Feel So Young
Run Around Sue
Blue Moon
Stay
Duke of Earl
Stand by Me
Great Balls of Fire
Do You Love Me?
Are You Lonesome Tonight?
Viva Las Vegas
Shout!
It's Not Unusual
My Girl
Sweet Caroline
Blackbird
Good Vibrations
The Boxer
Fire & Rain
Hotel California
Bohemian Rhapsody
Eternal Flame
My Sharona
Take on Me
Don't You (Forget About Me)
Like a Virgin
Wake Me Up Before You Go Go
Tainted Love
Funky Town
The Final Countdown

What do you think of this change of musical direction? Do you like it or do you prefer the more classical stuff?

hmmmm I like those sort of songs but I think I'd like at least a few classical bits put in aswell. With TENORS in their name it seems a bit odd to have no classical. I think it'd still be a good show tho and anticipate a dvd of it. Very Happy

Dammit, I have missed your answer, rainy. Embarassed I don't want to ignore you, I'm sooo sorry. Smile

I totally agree with you. Even though there are a lot of great songs in these sets, I'd prefer a better mixture of musical styles. I love classical music as well as jazz, pop and rock, so a bit of everything would be great. However, it sounds like a fun show and the thing I've criticised most about the HTTH show was that I found it a bit too 'stiff'. So I'm looking forward to seeing it (I hope I can manage it next year...) and of course, a dvd of it would be great! I don't think there will be one though, but hope dies last, doesn't it?! Laughing
