British classical group G4 have split because of bitter infighting.
The four-piece, tenors JOHN ANSELL and BEN THAPA and baritones MATTHEW STUFF and MIKE CHRISTIE, were discovered on British TV talent show THE X FACTOR in 2004. G4 went on to huge international success, releasing three platinum-selling albums - but have gone their separate ways, because they can't get on. Thapa says, "We did not want to drag on for another couple of years, growing increasingly resentful of each other. We are still friends and we want to stay friends but we won't if we carry on in G4." Ansell adds, "We would be bitterly fighting in the back of a limo, or rowing backstage then have to put on these fake smiles for the fans and carry on as if nothing was wrong."

| I agree Dawn, I wouldn't call myself a fan of G4's music but I did see the interview on GMTV when they made the announcement. I did think it was decent of them to be so honest as to why they were splitting up and hopefully they'll be happier in whatever offers come their way. |

I agree with everything above. I wouldn't exactly call myself a fan but I do respect them for being open and honest. There's not many bands that are that honest!
Best of luck for the future guys. x _________________ 'A life in music is a life beautifully spent.' (Pavarotti) |

| I am absolutely gutted by the split. I am a huge fan of G4 and I will always listen to their music and I hope that they will continue in the music industry as solo artists. |

| Hi G4FAN it must have been a real shock to fans when the split was announced, it will be interesting to see the direction any solo projects take in the future. Do you have a fav from the band? |

I was very upset about the G4 split - their final tour was fabulous and I am now looking forward to following Jonathan Ansell in his solo career.

Echo every word of that Molly-the split was devastating, but Jon's solo career looks to be shaping up beautifully, and I can't wait to go to his concerts and buy his CDs |

I was heartbroken about the split.
I now very happy Arsenal won tonight ,and Jonathan got his album deal
Im going to follow Jonathan
What we need now is Ben to have his classical deal(having him sing the great opera songs) Mike to sing his own songs.
Matt if he stays in world of music to do ratpack sort of album
This bit off topic-sorry
All we need now is to have promo tour and concert tour but Im jumping the gun there |

I was gutted when they announced the split. Couldn't believe it. But the fans gave them a good send off at the final concerts and now things are looking up where Jon is concerned!! |

Was totally gutted at the news of the split , but at least they let the fans know before the Tour, so making it 'special' for everyone.
Carlisle (last Tour gig) was really emotional, especially for Jon (bless him) and I think that is where it finished for the guys. It was a really memorable night for the fun side as much as anything else and the guys had a presentation from the fans when they arrived in the car park, which was also emotional for them.
The summer gigs after the Tour were the final farewells and lots of us who went to these tried our best to get hugs from the guys and waited after the events for them to go to their transport and they never disappointed once, always making time for us.
I wish them all well in whatever paths they choose and will be waiting on Jon's Tour, to set off on some 'adventures' yet again !!!! _________________
