Greetings,
We hope this newsletter finds you well, wherever you are, contemplating your forthcoming concert or reflecting on one you’ve just seen. In this edition we bring you up to date with some of the recent developments and let you in on a few insider secrets.
So, put on your favourite TTT disc, turn it up loud and read on…
THANK YOU
The Ten Tenors are so appreciative of your support of their latest album, “Here’s to the Heroes”. With your help, Here’s to the Heroes is now available in 27 countries, a few countries have already gone gold (both the album and DVD) and it has spent time at the top of the charts in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Mexico, France, the Netherlands, Germany and the USA.
Over the last ten years the strength of TTT has always been you, the loyal and enthusiastic fans. We sincerely thank all of you for your ongoing support and hope to see all of you during this year's touring to say thanks.
We’ve started working on what comes next – and we’d love to hear your ideas. If you have seen a show in the past 3 months, and haven't already, please complete our audience survey available online.
THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME
For TTT, 2007 started with a tour across Australia, and what better way to start the year. The Ten Tenors played to excited audiences from Brisbane to Perth and back again. Hot on the heels of the success of Tenology and Here’s to the Heroes in Australia, the tour was a sell out! Some stand-out moments included:
* TTT’s first performance at the magnificent Sydney Opera House
* King’s Park Perth, possibly the best organised outdoor concert TTT have ever appeared at (if you’re ever in Perth and there’s A Day on the Green concert – go!)
* 5,000 brave souls enduring a late summer storm (and we do mean storm) while sitting under Aussie gum trees to catch TTT in Bowral
* The brief return of our old friend Jason “Chopper” Turnbull who took some time out from his busy life as a new dad to hit the boards with the other tenors around Australia.
BELLA ITALIA!
Last week The Ten Tenors gave their first performance in Italy at a stunning private gala in Rome. The boys took the opportunity to indulge in some of their favourite activities: sight-seeing, eating, and watching the beautiful people go by (which is just another form of sight-seeing, we suppose!).
TTT shared some of their tourist photos with us in a recent TTT Today entry. See how many of the Tenors you can spot in their clever photo taken on the Spanish Steps.
GERMAN TOUR - NOW!
The Tenors are currently touring in Germany, and neighbouring countries. As a result of The Tenors’ appearance on shows like “Wetten, dass…”, tickets for all shows have been selling very fast with nearly every show a sell out. There are still tickets available in selected cities, so don’t delay – book now! Why not spend a couple of days in Düsseldorf, where the Tenors will be spending a couple of weeks performing at the Capitol during March and April. For booking details click here.
Rumour has it that TTT will be performing in South Africa and New Zealand before the year is out. Even more exciting for the very original TTT fans, we hear plans are underway for a short regional tour of Australia in the second half of 2007.
So if you live in South Africa, New Zealand, Korea, Spain, Italy, or regional Australia, be sure to watch the website for information about possible tour dates to be announced soon!!
INTRODUCING
In 2007 we’re welcoming a new addition to our team, Steve Sowden. Steve’s another fantastic young Aussie tenor who’s already beginning to make an strong impression with fans who’ve seen him on stage with the rest of the Tenors in Europe. We also welcome back to the group Dom Smith. Dom took some time of during 2006 to perform in opera productions in Australia, but is thrilled to be back on the road with the Tenors.
NORTH AMERICAN 2007/8 TOUR DATES
TTT will be touring the USA and Canada during between September 2007 and April 2008. We’ve released details of the confirmed performances, with full booking details and concert information here. Many more dates will be added over the coming months.[/b] |
