Il Divo top prize goes to 'deaf, crippled, blind'
This was the slogan that bagged 53-year-old Steven Mooi the grand prize in the "Awesome Il Divo Experience", a month-long contest organised by CIMB bank.
"I was happy, but it was my daughter and her friend who screamed for joy that I had won the grand prize," said Mooi.
He won two tickets worth RM2,000 for the group’s concert at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on Jan 16.
His prize also includes a two-night stay in a luxurious suite at the Shangri-La and dinner for two at the hotel’s French restaurant, Lafite.
He credits his 18-year-old daughter Rachel, and her friend Lee Sheu Quen, 20, for coming up with the slogan.
"My friend and I are hooked on Il Divo, and we can’t wait to watch them perform live," said Rachel.
There were 50 other winners; 25 participants received two tickets worth RM1,000 and 25 others won two tickets worth RM500.
The top five winners in each category received their mock tickets at a prize presentation ceremony yesterday.
