'In the Hands of Love'

Album Description
Vittorio Grigolo has the voice to explode every preconception about classical music. Warm, resonant and uniquely expressive, his singing hauls down the barriers which have sprung up between the worlds of opera and pop.
Vittorio has been a fixture on the international opera scene for half his life, performing in Japan, America and all points between. Born in Rome, he began to sing with the Sistine Chapel Choir when he was just nine years old. A couple of years later, not yet into his teens, he was invited to sing Tosca with Pavarotti.
"Il Pavarottino", as the Italian press quickly dubbed him, joined the Vienna opera company and, at 23, Vittorio became the youngest Italian tenor ever to sing at Milan’s La Scala.
After flirting with a career in motor racing he returned to opera and now, for the first time, Vittorio’s voice can be heard on record. His debut album, In The Hands of Love, contains 14 totally unique pieces of music. Not pop, not opera, but all infused with the passion, raw emotion and sheer beauty of Vittorio’s incredible voice.

I have just been listening to clips from the album on his OS - Bedshaped by Keane in particular sounds amazing !!! Have just ordered the album (currently No 1 on Amazon`s pre-release chart and No 7 in their top 100 albums (pretty good considering he is unknown in this country) !!!

My copy of the album came this morning from Play.com. Just had it on second playing - an amazing debut album - every single track showcases Vittorio`s beautiful tenor voice. My favourite tracks are Keane`s Bedshaped (an innovative work of genius in the way it has been reworked), If You`re Not the One (again a brilliant production), Maria and his duet with Katherine Jenkins You Are My Miracle. I really hope he makes the top 10 with this album (which I think he will) because the promotion in this country by Polydor has been really good. I can thoroughly recommend it

My cd arrived today as well - beautiful. 'Bedshaped' is fantastic, 'Querida' gorgeous, 'If you are not the one' - a revelation.
And Maria - possibly my favourite song from a musical.
Video is now showing on Classic as well.

Yes, I saw him this morning on Classic FMTV - twice in the Close Up Profile slot where he is talking about the album (he speaks very good English), and then half an hour later I saw his video Il Mio Miracolo. What a perfect start to Sunday !!

Vittorio's cd is really great, just got it tonight as the one i pre ordered did not turn up in the post today.
Popped down to Asda tonight as i couldn't wait any longer. 
It is so moving and powerful, he will soon be a household.  |

Bought this last week in WHSmith for £1.99
not really thought about buying it before but thought for £1.99 it doesn't matter if i dont like it. But WOAH!!!! it's fantastic, worth so much more than the price I paid.
I LOVE the foreign versions of Bedshaped and If your not the one. It doesnt come across as cheesy like when Il Divo translate an English speaking song into Italian.
I am VERY impressed with Vittorio and his fantastic voice |
