[ ClassicalX ] Jonathan Ansell becomes Ambassador for Breast Cancer Care

Jonathan Ansell has been appointed as an Ambassador for the charity Breast Cancer Care it was announced today.

Multi million selling singer Jonathan has been a long term supporter of the charity following the death of his aunt from breast cancer. Jonathan shot to fame four years ago with pop opera group G4 on TV’s X Factor and has now established himself as a bona-fide solo star. His debut album, Tenor at the Movies, topped the classical charts and also hit the Top Ten of the mainstream charts. His current album, Forever, was released late last year to great acclaim and is nominated for Album of the Year at the upcoming Classical Brit Awards.

Commenting on the news, Jonathan said, “I’m very much looking forward to raising awareness of breast cancer and Breast Cancer Care. My aunt had breast cancer so I know only too well how important it is to receive relevant, reliable and uptodate clinical and emotional support and information. That’s why the free services that Breast Cancer Care offers is so invaluable and why I’m so committed to helping them to continue.”

Jonathan’s first role as Ambassador will be to participate in the JPMorgan Asset Management Round the Island Race on June 20th. Breast Cancer Care is one of the chosen charities for the event which sees boats from all over the world race around the Isle of Wight. Jonathan will be testing his sea legs by joining the crew on the pink boat to raise awareness of the charity.

Jonathan joins other well known supporters of Breast Cancer Care. Lisa Snowdon, Denise Lewis, Rose Gray, Meera Syal and Vanessa Feltz are also Ambassadors for the charity. Each of them has been affected by the disease in some way.
