[ ClassicalX ] Fron choir nominated for Classical Brit Award

A chart topping Froncysyllte Male Voice Choir are in the running for another prestigious award.

The Froncysyllte Male Voice Choir has been nominated for a 2009 Classical Brit Award for their third album, Voices of the Valley: Home, which was released in November.

The choir secured a record deal in 2006 and since then the 70-strong ensemble, which has been called the oldest boy band in the world, has had a number of top classical hits in the charts.

They have toured all over the world and more recently sang for Prince Charles when he visited Froncysyllte in March.

The choir has been nominated for two previous Classical Brit Awards and members hope it will be third time lucky.

Choir chairman Dave Jones, said: "We are delighted to be nominated again.

"We are really proud to represent Wrexham and the district and hopes it brings the spotlight here."
