Better late than never, soprano superstar Hayley Westenra will be arriving at Cheltenham Town Hall for her eagerly anticipated River of Dreams Tour this week.

She might have postponed the Cheltenham Town Hall date of her River of Dreams Tour back in November, but fans of Hayley Westenra certainly won’t mind waiting few months to see the biggest selling classical artist of the 21st century perform on Friday 6 March 2009.

With combined album sales of over 4 million worldwide, Hayley Westenra’s Cheltenham audience at her River of Dreams Tour will be great company, as the soprano has performed for princes, princesses, presidents, prime ministers and even the Dalai Lama, since she shot to fame at 16.

Now aged 21, the classical performer has sung duets with Bocelli, Carreras and Terfel to name a few, but organisers maintain she still continues to be the ‘unaffected down-to-earth girl from Christchurch, New Zealand’.

With such a wide appeal, never mind reputation for captivating live performances, it is surprising that there are any tickets left for her Cheltenham debut.
