[ ClassicalX ] Fron Male Voice Choir to perform in Chester church

A Choir which became the the fastest-selling classical act of all time two years ago will be performing live at a Chester church on January 24.

“The Fron”, from the tiny village of Froncysyllte in North Wales, achieved the accolade with their album Voices of the Valley.

Their latest CD, Voices of the Valley: Home, includes a recording with guest Rolf Harris of his 1969 Christmas No 1 hit Two Little Boys.

The amateur choir consists of builders, policemen, farmers and prison wardens as well as many retirees, some of whom worked in the coalmines.

Their meteoric rise to fame has included appearances on TV as well as several country-wide tours.

The concert will also be featuring the church’s well-known local organist, John Evans.
