Opera star Russell Watson is to sing for the first time since his brain tumour op, at tonight's Ricky Hatton fight.
Boxer Ricky, 29, asked fellow Mancunian Russell, 41, if he would sing before he faces Mexican fighter Juan Lazcano.
Russell, nicknamed The Voice had a second brain tumour removed last October. A scan had revealed that a benign tumour removed in 2006 had regrown.
He will sing Jerusalem at the City of Manchester stadium. A source said: “Russell has an album out and a UK tour, so this will be his first performance to kick it all off. He is fighting fit.”
