Songs of Praise presenter and singing star Aled Jones makes his eagerly awaited visit to Chester next week.
He was due to perform two concerts at Chester Cathedral in November but ill health forced him to postpone the dates.
But now he is fit and ready to entertain city audiences on Tuesday and Wednesday (April 22-23) to sing with the Cathedral Choir, making a return to the historic building which he last visited while filming for an edition of Songs of Praise in 2006.
Aled is affectionately remembered as the Bangor Cathedral chorister with the unique treble voice who went on to pop stardom with Walking in the Air. The wonderful treble has now matured into a lyrical baritone and is in more demand than ever releasing albums each year and touring the country whenever his hectic schedule allows.
Aled has also become a highly respected presenter on TV as well as having his own radio shows on BBC Radio 2, Radio 3 and BBC Wales.
Aled’s new album Reason to Believe marks a change of direction in that we will hear him with his band rather than a full orchestra.
The concerts start at 7pm and tickets are now on sale at Chester Festivals Box Office at Chester Racecourse, telephone 01244 304618. Ticket prices are priced at £50 (for premium seats and the opportunity to meet Aled afterwards at a reception), £30, £25 and £15.
