Much to the chagrin of English rugby supporters, it's been a vintage year for the Welsh.
Their victory in the Six Nations Championship at a virtual canter meant their band of lusty supporters were in impressive voice throughout the spring.
Now it’s the turn of another Welsh choir to burst into song. The Fron Male Voice Choir.
The 40-strong outfit recently returned with their second album 'Encore', and, following the success of their 'Voices of the Valley' UK tour in 2007, they are back on the road and arrive at the Bridgewater Hall on Friday.
Their follow-up record is said to presents another carefully selected musical mix, including such popular classics as 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' and Paul McCartney's 'Yesterday' nestling alongside 'How Great Thou Art', 'Amazing Grace' and 'Guide Me O Thou Great Redeemer'.
The Fron - who range in age from teenagers to octogenarians, also visit the world of opera with 'Speed Your Journey', and add some West End dazzle on 'The Rhythm of Life'.
And, following their nation’s success with the oval-shaped ball this year, don’t be surprised if an emotional rendition of Bread of Heaven gets an airing too.
