Hayley Westenra's album Treasure has been nominated for Best Album at this year's Classical BRIT Awards to be held at the Royal Albert Hall in London on May the 8th.
As in previous years the award for Best Album is voted for by the public but is usually and for the first time, this year anyone from around the world may vote, not just people living in the UK.
The Classical BRIT Awards are an annual awards ceremony held in the United Kingdom covering aspects of classical music, and are the classical equivalent of pop music's BRIT Awards.
The awards are organised by the British Phonographic Industry and were inaugurated in 2000 in recognition of the achievements of classical musicians and the growth of classical music sales in the UK. The ceremony takes place in the Royal Albert Hall each May.
