The international star (pictured) will be returning to his former school, Cardinal Allen High School in Fleetwood, for rehearsals on Thursday, 1pm, before he performs concerts at Manchester University the following day and at Fleetwood's Marine Hall on Saturday, at 7.30pm.
The Lancashire Sinfonietta - supported by Lancashire County Council (LCC) - will offer a special live webcast and video conference from the school as part of their aim to help deliver the "Daily Hour of Culture" target for schools, as announced by the Government last month.
His rehearsal will be watched by schools all around the UK via an online webcast.
Students will learn about the processes of preparing for an orchestral concert and an interactive video conference afterwards will give students the chance to chat with Alfie and ask questions.
The event launches the Lancashire Sinfonietta's first series of webcasts and video conferences via CLEO (Cumbria & Lancashire Education Online), as part of the NEN (National Education Network), the online broadband service for UK schools.
Alfie has emerged in recent years as one of the UK's finest classical artists following a colourful few years spent honing his craft in the Royal Opera House and on Broadway.
Commenting ahead of his visit to Fleetwood, he said: "I'm very excited to be coming back to my home town of Fleetwood.
"It's always a great pleasure to perform for family and friends.
"I'm also very honoured to be working with the Lancashire Sinfonietta once again."
The concerts, which follow a musical journey down the Danube, feature Boe performing alongside other talented Lancastrians from the UK's top orchestras who make up the Lancashire Sinfonietta.
The violinist/director Bradley Creswick will also be joined by the virtuoso gypsy cimbalom player, Kálmán Balogh, who is flying in from Budapest especially for the concerts.
The Lancashire Sinfonietta is a professional chamber orchestra comprising 80 home-grown Lancashire musicians supported by LCC.
