Comely opera star Natasha Marsh is to follow in the footsteps of fellow singing sensation Katherine Jenkins, who forged her reputation by performing at rugby matches at the Millennium Stadium.
Natasha, a former Cambridge chorister, will sing at football's Carling Cup final at Wembley next month. Alas, it will not be quite the busman's holiday the blonde soprano had hoped for her beloved Arsenal were knocked out of the competition this week by their North London rivals Tottenham.
Natasha, 27, who is on a nationwide tour, managed to catch some of the match between shows in Nottingham by popping into a pub near the stage door.
"It got worse and worse," she says of her team's 5-1 drubbing.
She consoled herself with a phone call to her rock star husband and fellow Arsenal fan, Dobs Vye. "Now I will have to sing to Spurs supporters," she adds.
