Internationally renowned violinist Nicola Benedetti has added another accolade to her growing list of awards.
The 20-year-old Ayrshire star lined up alongside acclaimed singer Eddi Reader and musicians Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham at Glasgow Caledonian University honorary graduations ceremony.
Nicola received a Doctor of Letters in recognition of her musical achievements as well as her work in humanitarian and educational causes. Fiddle player Aly, accordionist Phil and former Fairground Attraction singer Eddi, were recognised for their contributions to music and to the education and encouragement of young musicians.
Professor Pamela Gillies, principal and vice-chancellor of the university, said: "Glasgow Caledonian is proud to recognise these individuals who have a distinguished record of achievement in their fields."
