The former I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! runner up was joined by her young classical proteges Kindred Spirits, who performed tracks from their debut CD and some traditional Christmas carols.

Myleene, 29, who has a three-month old daughter Ava, praised the child choir, saying: "I'm really proud. It's really scary, especially when you're singing in public and they just didn't bat an eyelid, they sang really well and if this doesn't get you in the mood for Christmas, then I give up!"

This year's lights on South Molton Street were built into twelve angel sculptures each seven metres tall and EMI ambassador Myleene did the honours at switchon time.

Kindred Spirits, whose songs include a version of You've Got A Friend and Coldplay's Fix You, are tipped to be Christmas No 1, and their self-titled debut album is due out on November 19.

Myleene added: "I think the best thing is that they're singing as a choir, enjoying themselves and making really lovely music. If it gets to No 1 then that would be an added bonus, but it would be a lovely Christmas present of course."
