A Commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Falklands War at 7.30pm Southwark Cathedral
'Heroes' - A special Cantana written for tenor and orchestra to mark the 25th Anniversary of the Falklands. Anne Collis, Artistic Director of the NSO (and percussionist) is also a composer and is having a World Premier of 'Heroes', a cantana for tenor, choirs and orchestra performed by the London Chorus at Southwark Cathedral on the 7th November this year.
The tenor is the exciting young scottish singer, Nicky Spence and the concert is entitled 'Heroes Remembered', and is part of the Falklands 25th Anniversary.The cantana pays homage to all the branches of the British armed services, ending with a spectacular storm at sea in the final movement, which is dedicated to Nelsons navy.
The second part of the programme is a W A Mozart Mass in C minor. Conductor, Ronald Corp. Soloists Elizabeth Watts and Arlene Rolph (Soprano), Nicky Spence (Tenor), Jonathan Lofthouse (Baritone). With the New London Orchestra and the New London Children’s Choir.
