A Devoted fan is travelling 11,500 miles to see her favourite singer perform in Cardiff.
Patsy Boles, 74, will be travelling from her remote cattle ranch in the Cimarron Valley, Kansas, with husband Paul, to see Aled Jones perform at St David’s Hall tomorrow.
Her obsession with the Welsh baritone started when she saw him perform on TV programme The Treble when he was just a young boy.
She said: "I was just amazed at the absolutely beautiful crystal clear tonal quality of his voice, and he seemed to have such a lovely personality. I am really looking forward to seeing Aled perform at St David’s Hall because that is where he sang with Stuart Burrows as a young boy more than 20 years ago."
Patsy’s first visit to Wales will be particularly special for her as her grandmother was Welsh. She said: "I have always heard it is a very beautiful country and look forward to seeing as much of it as possible while I am there."
Aled Jones was delighted to hear about Patsy coming to watch him perform and is hoping to meet her at the concert. He said: "I am amazed to learn that Patsy is making the journey from Kansas to Cardiff just to hear me sing and to know that she has been a fan since I was a child. I hope she has a wonderful time at the concert and that I will have the opportunity to meet her in person."
