April 8th, Classical BRITs announces the nominees for its biggest and most spectacular awards show to be held at the Royal Albert Hall on May 15th.
The nomination ceremony at the Mayfair Hotel will feature performances by newcomers and established British talent like Jonathan Ansell, vocal quartet Blake and violist Lawrence Power.
Co-chairmen of the Classical Brit Awards Committee, MD of UCJ, Dickon Stainer and EMI’s Head of Classics UK, Thomas Kaurich not only assure us that the award show itself will be quite a night, but that the launch is an event not to be missed. “The show will be the biggest and boldest in the history of the event, and the launch event on April 8th will showcase some of the sensational young talent which has topped the classical chart over the last year.”
Already there’s a buzz over the lineup for May’s awards show, even though only a few details have thus far been released. The multi-talented Myleene Klass will host for the evening. Not only is she beautiful, and a brilliant radio and television presenter, Myleene is a classically trained pianist, making her the ideal candidate for Classical BRITs.
Joining Myleen on the stage will be luminaries from across the classical music world. Stellar tenor Andrea Bocelli, mellifluous Sarah Brightman and string aficionado Nigel Kennedy will perform for viewers who can catch the show broadcast on Thursday May 15th on ITV.
